Chesapeake Bay Mainstem - Cove Point (CB4.4)

Location: Northeast of Cove Point Coordinates (NAD83): Latitude: 38.4132º Longitude: -76.3430º Description: This station is a mid-channel site located in the mid Cheaspeake Bay, northeast of Cove Point. This station is located in the mesohaline zone (salinity 5 to 18 ppt).

*Bottom - "Secchi Disk Was Visible On Bottom": When the Secchi disk is still visible on the bay floor it means that the water is clear enough for light to penetrate to the depth of the disk, reflect off of the disk, and reach the surface of the water again. Most of the time, this means that there is enough light for submerged aquatic plants to grow to that depth.
